THE vision
TO CHANGE THE ENVIRONMENT AND CONDITIONS THAT CREATE BREAST CANCER
Africa
Africa has some of the highest breast cancer mortality rates with the highest recorded incidence rates ‘within’ sub-Saharan Africa. Quality services are in dire need.
Caribbean
African-Caribbeans are more affected by breast cancer than other ethnic groups in the Caribbean. Poverty and historical trauma are playing their part.
Asia/Oceania
Breast cancer records in Asia are very poorly kept and worse for Africans in Asia. There is some information on the Oceania’s but clearly we need to know a lot more.
Americas
While globally, the US (North), has one of the highest incidences of breast cancer, it has comparably low mortality rates. Better healthcare is the difference.
Europe/UK
Black Breast Cancer in Europe/UK mirrors US patterns. Africans have similar incidence but 40 per cent higher mortality rates compared to White Europeans
